It is now estimated that as many as 300 million people, of all ages and from all ethnic backgrounds are suffering from asthma. Asthma is a huge burden to goverments, health care, families and patients world wide. Asthma is still on the increase worldwide. Research into the cause is its top priority. Asthma has become common in both children and adults across the world in recent years as more people worldwide are becoming urbanised. In the next 10 years a further 100 million will have asthma. In many areas of the world people with asthma dont even have the basic medication or medical care for asthma.

Asthma should be given priority regonition by all goverments as it is of significant magnitude. Even in richer countries of the world it is not given top regnotion or the funding it needs so lots of people are suffering because of this. Asthma accounts for every 1 in 250 deaths worldwide. Priority should be given to reduce suffering and mortality to as many asthma sufferers as possible world wide.
The top causes for asthma burdens are poverty, poor education and poor infrastructure. Enviromental causes are air pollution both indoor and outdoor, tobacco smoking and work related asthma. Another cause is lack of data on fact and figures to the real asthma sures worldwide and the true mortality figures of asthma. The limited availability to medications because of cost (even in richer countries) yes. Another barrier is lack of information and goverment resorces. Lack of health care workers in asthma

We need to make more aware to everyone the importance and mortality of asthma. Asthma needs to be monitored and data collocted worldwide on the amount of sufferers and mortality figures. Improve accessability to essential drugs (especially in poorer countries). Enviromental factors need to be addressed to include indoor and out door pollution. Research into the true cause of asthma and why everyone has it differently.
